David Beckham wears green and gold scarf

Manchester United fans love when David Beckham wrapped a green and gold scarf around his neck as he left the Old Trafford pitch last night.

But the former United winger has claimed it was because he knows it's the Man Utd old colours and nothing related to the "Love United Hate Glazer" protest:

"I'm a Manchester United fan. I saw the scarf there, I put it round my neck," said Beckham. "It's the old colours of United, that's all I knew. To be honest it's not my business. I support the club. I always have done and I always will do.

It's nothing to do with me the way everything is run, that's to do with other people but I'm a United fan and I will always support them. Obviously you can hear it week in and week out. There's always protests going on. Let's hope it gets sorted out."

Wenger impressed by Park Ji-Sung's quality

Park Ji-Sung has had a fantastic career when you look back at it but it's strange that some football fans think he is not good enough to play for Manchester United or even a Premier League team.

Now let's hear the professor Arsene Wenger - person who knows football, how he thinks the quality of Park Ji-Sung...

"I know that the Korean players in England are doing very well and of course it excites a little bit your curiosity," said Wenger. "The Korean players have done one important thing. There are very few Asian players who have made it in Europe and especially the Premier League but the Korean players look to adapt very well."

"He [Park Ji-Sung] made his name in Eindhoven first in the Champions League and when you play against him he is a very hard-working player who sacrifices for the team but as well has some good skills. He has scored some important goals - unfortunately against us! I am convinced by his quality, he has a top-level attitude."

Michael Owen out for rest of the season

Sir Alex Ferguson has today confirmed that Michael Owen will be out for the rest of the season after picking up a leg injury in the League Cup final last Sunday. Owen's injury is more serious than we thought and requires an operation on Monday.

"It's a bad blow for Michael and he's out for the season," Ferguson said. "It was more serious than we thought and he'll have an operation on Monday morning.

"It's a terrible blow for the lad and disappointing for us, too. He never missed a training session all season. The heavy pitch at Wembley played some part, but it's also bad luck."

Photo: Nani has a six-pack

Nani (Right) has a six-pack? Yes with photo evidence.

He reminds me young Cristiano Ronaldo, not because his six-pack abs, but his top performance in recent matches against Hull City and Manchester City. If Nani is able to keep up the hard work, he is the player Sir Alex Ferguson worth waiting to shine.

BTW, why Wes Brown (Left) is sucking his finger and looking at Michael Carrick?

Roberto Mancini promises to remove the Manchester City clock banner from Stretford End

Roberto Mancini has promised his side that Manchester City will beat Manchester United, then advance to the final and win the Carling Cup to tear down a banner displayed from Stretford End at Old Trafford mocking the trophy drought that Manchester City have endured since 1976.

Mancini said: "When we go to Old Trafford we will take that banner down. This is the last year it will be up because we will win, for sure.

"I am well aware how long it is since City last won a trophy, but this season we have a great opportunity to put that right.

"We are in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup and, if we play well and if we have total concentration, it is possible that we will arrive in the final.

"It will be a good game because both teams like to play football and all my concentration is on facing United because if we win the two legs, then we will go to the final and that is the most important thing."

Hmmm... Mancini has spent just two and a half weeks with Manchester City and starts the Manchester derby fight talk. Nice to see the momentum from the Italian.

Michael Owen urged to try Feng Shui

The former England cricketer Geoff Boycott has written to Michael Owen, urging the misfiring striker to try the ancient Chinese art of feng shui in a bid to get his World Cup ambitions back on course.

Manchester United fan Boycott says feng shui was a big help to him when he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2002.

"Michael is struggling with his scoring and obviously wants to get back in the England team for the World Cup finals in South Africa." said Boycott.

"So I wrote to him a while back urging him to give it [Feng Shui] a go. If he is not interested, fine, I’ve not a problem with that.

"I am only trying to help and if it helps him find his scoring boots again, then great. Everyone has won.

"I wrote to Michael Owen a while back to say, 'look at this and see what you think'," said Boycott. "I have seen him play and he needs that little spark which maybe this can give him.

"He hasn't replied to my letter yet but if he does I will put him in touch with some experts in feng shui and see where that takes him. During treatment for cancer I got into feng shui.

"I slept in different rooms, facing different ways. They believe that as you sleep you heal. People who don't know anything about it say it is rubbish but it worked for me – I'm alive," said the former opening batsman Boycott.

Totally lookalike: Fabio and Rafael

Meet the da Silva twins! No, there is no mirror. They are Manchester United defenders. It would be a good idea for the twins to keep some distance to each other on the pitch before the match officials get tricked.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has previously joked about swapping the shirts of the Da Silva twins, Fabio and Rafael, in order to trick officials.

But during Manchester United's Carling Cup with Barnsley, referee Chris Foy had booked the wrong da Silva twin. He booked Fabio for a foul on Barnsley sub Jamal Campbell-Ryce. But it was actually Rafael who had committed the offence and should have received the caution.
