Malaysia beats Vietnam 1-0 in final. Malaysia last won the football gold was in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in 1989, with a 1-0 victory over Singapore which is 20-year ago.
I would like to congratulate Malaysia Under-23 for winning the 25th SEA Games Football Gold Medal as they had beaten the defending champions Thailand 2-1 to win a place in the semi-finals and Laos 3-1 in front of 20,000 home fans in semi-finals. However, the Malaysia team didn't impress me in final match because Vietnam were the better side.
