Mercedes takes over Brawn GP

The rumour was true: Mercedes is taking over Formula One champion Brawn GP. Which means Brawn GP morphs into Mercedes GP. It was officially announced that Mercedes in partnership with Aabar Investments had purchased a 75.1% stake in Brawn GP (Mercedes: 45.1%; Aabar: 30%), though Ross Brawn is expected to stay on as team principal.

In the same time, Mercedes will be selling it's share in McLaren which McLaren will be buying back the 40 per cent shareholding from Mercedes by 2011. However, McLaren will be continue to use Mercedes engines until 2015 and continue to be known as McLaren Mercedes.

It's a bit sad to have only seen the 2009 Constructors' World Champion, Brawn GP in F1 for one season isn't it?

Mercedes GP team drivers were rumoured Nico Rosberg team with Nick Heidfeld.
